Meet the amazing people who make up the Get Rollin team!
Metha Balasquides
Team Member description:
Metha, aka Reynaldo Balasquides, is a Puerto Rico native roller, author, performer, climber, outreach coordinator, and community organizer.
An aggressive skater by nature, he has also been diving into long distance and all the forms in which rolling allows us to explore and experience our body, mind, and spirit. As his book “Roller-Blader-Values” reflects, he is a strong advocate of mental health awareness and resiliency development, wanting to promote wellness.
After over 25 years of skating and experiencing the roller family around many countries, he is now placing his love for this community into action to serve it, which led to founding Get Rollin alongside a group of other talented and dedicated rollers.
“The many of the few, are mighty together.”

Nowa Coston
Nowa, aka LeperNYC, is a lifelong street skater, snowboarder, and skateboarder with roots in Michigan and Queens, New York. He is a devoted husband and father, a special educator, artist and leatherworker.
Nowa began street skating in 1993 in Michigan. He was part of the larger SixWonSix crew, and his local spots were Western Michigan University campus and the Kalamazoo Skate Zoo. His accomplishments include a soul grind on the triple kink at University of Maryland, the Chicago subway gap, and being the first one to hit the “Dare to Air” rail in Kalamazoo. Nowa is currently riding 4x80 White FR3s and learning how to skate long distances with fast people. Nowa’s favorite section will always be Hoax 2 NYC.
Nowaś involvement in Get Rollin began when he and Metha organized the inaugural Blader’s Field Day event in Astoria, New York in the summer of 2019. Nowa joined the Board of Directors at Get Rollin in 2020, and he served as the first Get Rollin Resident Artist (2021), Nowa’s initial project was to design the organization’s logo. He collaborated with Get Rollin at various events to create custom signage and media, as well as the design for Mexico Tour 2021. He has since ushered in three new Resident Artists to the Get Rollin family.
When he’s not skating, you might catch Nowa out hiking through the snow, fishing a river, spray painting a piece of private or governmental property, reading old Donald Westlake mysteries, getting heady with the good ol’ Grateful Dead, grilling with family, hitting the road to nowhere, birdwatching at the edge of a bog, playing the blues on his cigar box guitar, or harvesting the salsa garden. Nowa’s favorite quote, by Abbie Hoffman, is “The only way to support a revolution is to start your own.”

Dale Tan
Dale has been in New York City for over 20 years and splitting time with Salt Lake City, UT in the winter for the past several years. Originally from Seattle, WA, he grew up aggressive skating during his youth. After a 15 year hiatus, he put the skates back on during the pandemic stating, “Putting skates back on definitely kept me sane. It really allowed me to deal and escape from everything that was going on in my life during that time.”
Despite being an aggressive skater for so long, he really enjoys big wheeling in the city.

Rob Thompson
With over 36 years of experience, Rob has transitioned from a legendary figure in the streets to a mindful mentor for the next generation. Best known for his tenure as a Salomon pro in the early 2000s, he cemented his legacy with a "wrecking ball" style, fearlessly tackling heavy hammer tricks and intricate technical rail lines that were often featured in iconic films like Underestimated, Life+, and Rejects. His reputation as an adrenaline junkie was earned through high-stakes segments that are still celebrated as some of the most high-risk entertainment in the sport's history.
After a significant hiatus, Rob returned to the scene with a refined perspective. Today, he is a certified inline skate instructor who balances his explosive athletic background with a deep passion for breath work and yoga. This holistic approach allows him to teach not just the mechanics of a trick, but the mental discipline required to master it. Whether he’s out skating or guiding a new skater through their first roll, Rob remains a dedicated ambassador for the culture of blading.
